The World is full of fathers

Graduating soon. I've been taking pictures of stuff that comes naturally more and more. I met this artist, Roger Welch, whose films and pictures are narrative-driven, and its given me ideas. So heres one picture that i took, yesterday. It might kind of a non-sequitor, but thats okay.

ah, summer, i miss thou

going to miami in january is an incredible thing, to feel heat and humidity so extreme in the middle of winter is something i've not experienced before.

But coming home to cold now feels unnatural. Even though this winter hasn't been extreme in comparison with past ones, its still not fun!

pictures of my brother

Now and then.

I pulled out some negatives from 2001, when i shot a lot of tri-x through my nikon, especially of the person i spent the most time with, my brother.

Hes in college now, but I shoot him whenever i can. My impetus for doing so comes from the feeling i get from old snapshots of my family, and how i wish there were infinite amounts of them to dig through. So taking as many as I can now, I want to be able to have lots and lots when I am old.

Steven Pyke has been doing a great series of his son Jack, "mapping the evolution of the human face" its beautiful and sad and they're my favorite examples of this kind of work.

Nicholas Nixon

Rineke Dikstra, who had this series at MoMA at the "Out of Time" exhibit is also worth looking at.

First Posting

I thought I'd post some photos from time to time. Danny Clinch does something called "photo of the minute" where he sends everyone on his email list a single picture thats topical (like he sent one of James Brown after hearing he passed away) or just a cool looking image that doesn't really fit into his portfolio or any specific body of work.
I was always interested in this idea, so this can be my venue for my photos of the minute, interesting pictures, etc.
